Begin by completing our brief eligibility quiz. This five-question quiz helps confirm whether your organization and project align with the Foundation’s funding priorities. If eligible, you’ll be guided to sign in or create an account in our grantee portal to submit an inquiry. Please contact us if you need support at any point.

Invitation to Apply
After reviewing all inquiries, we will invite selected projects to submit a full application through the grantee portal, in line with our submission timelines.

Submit Your Application
If invited, complete and submit your application through the grantee portal. Applications are reviewed by the Program Team and grants are approved by the Foundation’s Board.

Eligibility
What types of organizations can apply for funding?
Grants are offered only to registered Canadian charities, with preference given to organizations, including denominations, that have experience in global evangelism and church planting. Applications from private or public foundations, for-profit companies, churches, or individuals are generally not eligible for funding.
Can international organizations receive funding directly?
The Damascus Road Foundation provides grants solely to Canadian Registered Charities.
How do we start if we have never applied before?
We recommend learning about what we fund and completing an eligibility quiz. This helps confirm initial alignment with our funding criteria before moving ahead with a formal inquiry.
What are the financial guidelines for a grant request?
Generally, our grants do not exceed 10% of an organization’s annual revenue. For more guidance and details about our funding, please see grant details.

Inquiries
What happens after I submit an inquiry?
After reviewing all submitted inquiries for the round, we will invite applications through the grantee portal for the projects that best align with the Foundation’s priorities as outlined in the submission timelines.
What should first-time applicants focus on in the inquiry?
Be clear and concise about the people group(s) being engaged, the evangelistic and church-planting strategy, and the anticipated outcomes. If the people group you plan to engage isn’t listed on Joshuaproject.net or PeopleGroups.org, we would be glad to receive any additional information you can provide about the group.
Does the Foundation have a specific geographic focus?
We support registered Canadian charities that are bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to the least-reached people groups of the world, no matter where they are. Learn more about our funding priorities.
Can a meeting be scheduled to discuss a possible grant request?
The Program Team in unable to accommodate all meeting requests so the application process begins by submitting an inquiry through the grantee portal.
Are projects focused on language groups rather than people groups eligible?
We prioritize projects that bring the gospel to clearly identified unreached—especially unengaged or frontier—people groups, rather than broad language-based initiatives. If your project is focused on the country’s most widely spoken language, it will typically align with the largest people group, enabling you to include the relevant people group data in your inquiry submission.

If the Foundation approves a grant request, when can payment be expected?
Upon approval, the Foundation will send a grant announcement letter and a Memorandum of Understanding, which must be signed and returned. The grant will not be paid until the Foundation receives this. Generally, the MoU will state the reporting schedule, the payment schedule, and any conditions required before payment.
What kind of reporting is expected?
Funded partners must submit annual narrative and financial reports tied to agreed upon milestones, outcomes, and budgets.
Will you refer me to other funders?
We are unable to provide referrals to other funders, as each organization has unique strategic priorities.
Does receiving a previous grant guarantee future funding?
Each funding request is evaluated independently based on alignment with our current priorities, values, and available resources.
