For years, Malika was trapped in a toxic relationship with her painting teacher, believing her happiness depended on him. Even after he married someone else, she couldn’t let go. She sank into deep despair, struggling with overwhelming pain and even contemplating ending her life.
Then, in her darkest moment, Malika found a Christian website. On it, she connected with a Persian woman in Germany, named Nazanin. A mentorship began. Nazanin shared about faith as a personal relationship with God, and encouraged Malika to pray. Malika took Nazanin’s caring encouragement to heart.
As Malika began to read the Bible, she came across John 4:14:
“But whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Malika was deeply touched, and with Nazanin’s careful encouragement, she sought to drink the water of life that comes only through Jesus.
As she sought after God, something dramatic shifted in Malika’s life. She became hopeful – something she never imagined before Jesus. She began to see her worth through God’s eyes, not tied to others or her past. Her life became defined by peace and joy. When she married and had a child, Malika began sharing her faith with her husband and praying for his salvation. Though she and her family still face struggles, she now walks with confidence, knowing that God is with her.
Nazanin continues to walk with Malika from afar, offering Christian support and encouragement online.
